Blur

At this point, much of July is a blur - if I didn't have folders of pictures on my computer and excessive photo files on my phone, I am afraid I wouldn't remember any of it at all. I love having my blog to look back at, but I sure do love Instagram because it captures the moment right as it happens and there isn't much work involved in documenting it right on the spot.

4th of July

4th of July this year was one of the gloomiest 4ths I can remember.  We had planned to spend the day swimming at my sister's, so that was what we did, but the skies were gray and it was misty and it didn't feel very summerish.  After we swam and ate we headed home to rest up and then went to watch the fireworks in Laguna Hills.  I don't know how we end up in Laguna Hills every year, but we do.  Instead of sitting down with the crowd we sat on the pathway behind the high school - it was pretty intense because the fireworks were pretty close to where we were sitting, and it freaked Harper the heck out...she cried (screamed) to go home during the entire firework show.  Maybe not the best 4th ever, but memorable ;)

The girls started the morning of the 4th off with some light reading...

First Weekend in July

Our first weekend in July was spent swimming with friends in Grandma & Grandpa's pool, BBQing, hanging at home, doing yard work, and washing the car.  We don't wash our own cars very often, but Sawyer must like it because she is still talking about it at the end of September.

Baby Beach Day

Way back in June we spent a day at Baby Beach in Dana Point.  It was the only day we spent there the entire summer and I am not really sure why because the kids had a lot of fun playing and splashing in the water.  It was pretty crowded though, so maybe that was why I never ventured back.  I cannot believe that was already almost 3 months ago...

Have we ever discussed how Harper's hair grows several different directions in the back?

If this bathing suit bottom makes Sawyer's bum look that big...can you imagine what it would look like on an adult?  Oh my word.
